Online Hari Study Group and Grand Rounds Subscription

The High Desert Hari Society is committed to the preservation & transmission of the classical style of Japanese Meridian Therapy. Oftentimes practitioners feel like islands unto themselves, where they do not feel they have support for the various clinical questions that arise in patient sessions. In Japan clinicians undergo extended mentorships that bring about practical experience and confidence. This is rarely possible here in the United States.

As a solution, the HDHS is hosting a monthly virtual study group on various topics pertaining to Classical Japanese Medicine, including Hari-style meridian therapy and various other acumoxa topics in the style of case-based learning (CBL). Case-based learning is recognized across disciplines as an effective way to promote higher levels of cognition. Each session will be led by an experienced practitioner. Sessions will be 90 minutes and feature a short lecture by the hosting practitioner followed by the presentation of case studies and discussion of modes of treatment.

The study groups will be held monthly via Zoom and will run from 9:00pm-10:30pm Eastern Standard Time (6-7:30 Pacific, 7-8:30 Mountain, 8-9:30 Central). Communication and logistics will be handled primarily by Acazia Gilmore. If you join after the first session, you will receive the audio files and any notes from previous sessions.

We encourage submission of case studies one week before meeting, so that everyone has a chance to review and the host practitioner may select cases that are the most helpful to all. An effort will be made to get to as many case studies as possible.
