Please join us for a very special Advanced HARI Clinical Program with Koei Kuwahara Sensei and three amazing teachers from Japan.  This series will focus on the clinical application of HARI medicine with additional techniques taught by a small group of pre-eminent Sensei who are well known and respected for their clinical insights and techniques.

New Advanced Hari Series Structure – 3 Modules of 4 days each

October 10 – 13, 2019  Thursday – Sunday
December 12 – 15, 2019  Thursday – Sunday
February 28 – March 2, 2020  Friday – Monday

Kuwahara Sensei, with the assistance of Dr. Ehrland Truitt, will begin each module by delving deeper into the clinical applications of Hari Traditional Japanese Acupuncture Style.  They will touch on all the basics of HARI style treatment but primarily as a framework from which to delve into more advanced study of the theories, principles, techniques and skills critical to effective clinical practice.

Following the Hari portion, each module will then be instructed by one of our three special Guest Teachers from Japan to explore their clinical approaches to various conditions and to learn their unique techniques for patients with all types of presentations.

Module 1  begins with 2 days of instruction from Kuwahara Sensei followed by two days of instruction from Nakano Masanari Sensei in his specialized non-insertive techniques with teishin and enshin.

Module 2 begins with 2 days of instruction from Kuwahara Sensei again and will be followed by 2 days of instruction from Kuzuno Genan Sensei in his elegant Shiggo (Midday/Midnight) and Ki Kei (8 Extra Vessel) diagnosis and treatment approach.

Module 3 will conclude the series with 1 day of instruction from Kuwahara Sensei followed by 3 days of instruction in Taishi Hari (Pediatric Acupuncture) treatment in the Tanioka Family lineage style with Tanioka Sensei’s daughter Tanioka Noriko Sensei.

Information on our Special Guest Instructors:

Nakano Masanari Sensei, from the Toyohari Kansai group, has been an apprentice to Miyawaki Yuki Sensei and has much clinical wisdom to share with us from the Toyohari Kansai style as passed down from Fukushima Kodo through Miyawaki Yuki Sensei. Nakano Sensei will demonstrate and teach his approach to treatment which includes “Super Extra Vessel” and En-Teishin treatment with further instruction in the application of Nakano Sensei’s Toyohari Kansai style treatment approach.

Kuzuno Genan Sensei will be presenting his techniques with Extraordinary Vessels and Shigo (midday/midnight) methods for root treatment and symptomatic relief. This is a unique opportunity to study and explore the use of the extraordinary vessels and the horary cycle as tools for diagnosis and point selection in both root and branch treatments with a brilliant and intelligent approach developed by Kuzuno Sensei himself.

Tanioka Noriko Sensei is the daughter of Tanioka Masanori Sensei, one of the most well-known and respected practitioners of Shonihari (pediatric treatment) in Japan. Tanioka Sensei works with Tanioka Sensei every day in the family’s Daishi Hari clinic in Yao City, Japan. She brings her extensive clinical experience, kind spirit, and gentle nature to her work. This is her first visit to the U.S. to share with us the diagnostic and treatment techniques honed in the Tanioka family for generations. These techniques are especially useful clinically for pediatric treatment and are also valuable tools in the treatment of patients of all ages whose systems are very sensitive to treatment.

Each weekend will involve a clinical portion where students will have the opportunity to observe as each Sensei does treatment as well as have the exclusive opportunity to practice the skills they have learned with direct feedback from each teacher. Each teacher will share their own clinical experiences with specific disease categories and overall treatment of adults and children.

This Advanced HARI Series is an excellent opportunity for all skill levels, but will have a clinical emphasis allowing all participants to return to their practices with clinically useful tools, techniques, skills, and pearls of wisdom from these exceptional teachers.

ABOUT HARI TRADITIONAL JAPANESE ACUPUNCTURE

HARI is a specific style of Classical Acupuncture. This approach to Meridian Therapy is rooted in the principles of Ancient Kototama as well as the practice of Shinkiko (energy therapy). Within a state of ZEN, HARI offers a peaceful space to provide quality hands-on care. HARI is a holistic, personalized medicine based on modern and traditional medical science. Utilizing symptomology, empirical knowledge, and the sense known as intuition, HARI facilitates the healing of the self, by the self, by reintroducing the body to the flow of nature.

HARI is a complete treatment system based on the evaluation techniques of Traditional Japanese Meridian Therapy (Keiraku-chiryo) and five phases (dimensions) as well as the eight-power model derived from theoretical foundations of Japanese Classics. The HARI system is a flexible approach that draws from the strengths of various acupuncture styles.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to study a truly energetic and comprehensive system that does not rely on stimulating the nervous system through “de qi” sensation, but rather on touch diagnosis and super-superficial needle techniques. Rather than strong stimulation, all the patient usually feels is deep relaxation and awakening of special phenomenon within the patient we refer to as a “return to nature”.

The theoretical aspects of HARI are easily mastered so most of the seminar time is used for hands on training and feedback. This is the key to really learning HARI and producing results in your clinical practice. The seminar format allows you to learn, ask questions and develop skills while practicing with live feedback from instructors.

A large portion of the program is dedicated to hands on training (Sesshin) and feedback (Ki-monitoring by pulse quality diagnosis). This is the key to deep learning of HARI and to producing results in your clinic. In particular, the Mind/Body/Spirit posture and Kototama techniques are incorporated into the program to improve the practitioner’s health while also improving the quality of treatment.

By the end of the program, students will have many strategies and techniques to treat the most challenging clinical presentations.
