We strive to bring you the best teachers in the best learning environment, and believe it is in our best interest as a medical environment to wait until after the novel Coronavirus is under control before inviting both our esteemed teachers and the larger medical community to study together. Those registered and paid before March 8, 2020 will receive a full refund.  To be notified when a new date is selected and be placed on a pre-registration list, please email eric@highdeserthari.org

Theme: Kampo in America – Bridging the gap between East and West

Join the High Desert Hari Society, in consortium with the New York Kampo Institute, Sun Ten Laboratories, Sun Ten Pharmaceuticals, and the Keio University Medical School Kampo Department for a two day symposium bringing together some of the brightest minds in study of Kampo today.

Kampo is becoming more popular in the US, and the manner in which it continues to spread in educational, research, clinical, and commercial settings can no longer be the work of specific individuals. Instead, it must grow and flourish on an organizational level. In bringing together a diverse group of practitioners and teachers, we seek to expand the reach of this uniquely effective herbal system.

The North American Kampo Symposium will feature numerous speakers as well as one day of hands-on training, in which fukushin abdominal diagnosis is taught and practiced with an emphasis on how findings lead to pattern diagnosis.

Schedule:

Saturday will involve short presentations by guest speakers and will
include a Keynote Speaker as part of an evening social event. The list of
speakers is as follows:

From Japan: Kenji Watanabe MD (Key-note speaker)
From the UK: Gretchen De Soriano MSc, BAcC.
From the US: Nigel Dawes MA, BAcC, L.Ac.; Gregory Plotnikoff MD.

Sunday will offer a practical, hands-on workshop on a key clinical
discipline in the Kampo tradition – Fukushin (Abdominal Diagnosis).
This workshop will be facilitated by:

Nigel Dawes MA, BAcC, L.Ac (NY).
Gretchen De Soriano MSc, BAcC.

Times:
9:00am-5:30pm with a 1 hour lunch

Note for Travelers:
• Be advised that the John Wayne airport in Santa Ana (SNA) is significantly closer to the SunTen headquarters than LAX, and flights are normally similar in price.
