Shonishin Pediatric Acupuncture 2011

November 12-13, 2011
With Koei Kuwahara, L.Ac

Acupuncture and moxibustion therapies can be very effective in the treatment of children’s diseases, and in Japan many children come to the acupuncture clinic. The main techniques are performed using needles specifically developed for the treatment of children. These are comfortable, non-insertive techniques such as pointing, rubbing, tapping and scratching, which allow children to enjoy treatment without being afraid. Students will learn Japanese meridian therapy for children focusing on the pulse diagnosis approaches developed by experienced practitioners in Japan.

This class teaches participants how to perform acupuncture on children, using needles specifically developed for the treatment of children, and using non-Insertive techniques with tools such as Taishin, Zanshin, Enshin; three of the ancient ‘nine needles’ described in the Ling Shu. These tools can be used on adults and children alike to regulate the Ki and blood without being inserted.
